Eric Jackson’s extensive understanding and knowledge of building comes from years of practice. He began building homes with his father at a very early age. During summer vacations, Eric would work with his father, Ralph Jackson, who is renown for his local building achievements and legendary custom home construction along the North Coast and The Sea Ranch. Even as a youngster, Eric was passionate and eager to learn how to build beautiful spaces and do quality work. He continued working with his father through high school and into his early twenties. During this time, Eric came to know that he wanted to build quality, custom homes just as his father did. He began his independent professional career working for Empire Contracting, where Eric gained additional experience as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator.
After completing his apprenticeship and the necessary steps to become a contractor, Eric successfully received his contractor’s license in 2008. Eric’s interest in electrical work, led him to join MD Electric & Solar Inc., where he has worked for over six years. Along with his natural abilities as an electrician, Eric’s strong organizational and communication skills made him an invaluable employee for the company. Because of Eric’s passion for learning and problem solving, he has done extensive study on electricity, and taken every opportunity to do additional hands on electrical work with his father-in-law, who was an accomplished electrician. Since Eric Jackson started working in 1995, he has worked on more than 100 homes in The Sea Ranch area, and a number of additional homes from Gualala to Irish Beach.
By the time Eric was 30 years old he had spent over half of his life doing carpentry or electrical on a construction site.In 2016, Eric decided that it was time to fulfill his life long dream of starting his own company and doing custom building projects, and White Barn General Contracting and Electrical was born.
